We’re excited to announce a brand new partnership with The University of New South Wales in Canberra.
UNSW Launch is an invite-only collaborative workspace bringing together industry, government and university to grow innovation and capability in defence and security. The program has a particular interest in supporting start-ups in defence, cyber security, space and artificial intelligence (AI), and so Ocula was deemed a perfect fit for the program.
Ocula AI is a mobile application (iOS and Android) that provides objective, point-of-care assessment for neurological impairment caused by a Traumatic Brain Injury (e.g. concussion) or neurological inhibitors such as alcohol, drugs, and/or over-tiredness.
We’re at an exciting point on our road map, and this partnership with UNSW Launch couldn't have come at a better time.
Through UNSW, we will be able to establish opportunities to work with researchers and experts in the field that will specifically help us to both assess and progress the clinical relevance of the Ocula technology.
Running exclusively out of Northbourne in Canberra, Launch boasts state of the art facilities accessible within the partnership including a Cyber Range, Concurrent Design Facility, access to the UNSW Canberra Technical Support Group (TSG), as well as extensive academic databases and other useful resources.
The University of New South Wales also run the UNSW School of Optometry and Vision Science which will prove to be incredibly helpful in our research with Ocula. Our aim is to work with UNSW to run a series of trials to collect important data to help refine the algorithms within the technology, as well as training Ocula’s machine learning algorithm.
With a heavy focus on defence technology, the partnership offers the opportunity for us to draw on UNSW’s connections within the defence industry to enable us to further extend Ocula trials into and with defence companies, specifically surrounding neurological health assessments.
We’re so excited to begin this next step in our partnership with UNSW, and we can’t wait to see where this collaboration takes us with Ocula!
